Andrew Friedman is a Berkeley-based clarinetist, composer, and educator devoted to performing music new and old, large and small. Particularly in demand as an opera clarinetist, he has performed with companies across the Bay, including the operas of San Francisco, San Jose, Livermore, Modesto, and West Bay. He is also a dedicated performer of contemporary music and has performed new works with Eco Ensemble, Left Coast Ensemble, and as a founding member of Stolen Time. He serves as lecturer of clarinet at San Francisco State University and coaches woodwinds and chamber music at the Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra. 

Friedman graduated with honors from the University of Puget Sound with degrees in Music Performance and English and holds an MM from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music; his teachers included Carey Bell, Dr. Kelly Burke, and Jennifer Nelson.
