Jassen Todorov has distinguished himself as one of the most prominent violinists of his generation. Dubbed “an outstanding violinist…a player to watch” by the British music journal The Strad, Mr. Todorov has played and taught master classes throughout Europe, Australia, Asia and the Americas, and garnered much acclaim for his intense, original musicianship. He has performed at venues such as Carnegie’s Weill Hall in New York, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and Melba Hall in Melbourne. A top prize winner of several national and international competitions, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Harid Conservatory, Florida, and his master’s degree from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. Mr. Todorov is a Professor of Music at San Francisco State University (since 2003) and the recipient of prestigious awards including the Eastman award for excellence in teaching (2002) and the Crystal Lyre for achievements in music (2006). He is also an accomplished photographer and the Grand Prize Winner of the 2018 National Geographic Photo Contest. His images have been published by numerous magazines and newspapers, and have been exhibited at the Chicago O’Hare International Airport, the Somerset House in London and the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh. Dr. Vedrana Subotić is a Professor-Lecturer at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where she teaches piano performance and music entrepreneurship. A Steinway Artist and versatile performer, she has played hundreds of concerts across North and South America, Europe, and Asia—as a recitalist, chamber musician, and concerto soloist. Her repertoire includes over 500 works, with recent performances of concertos by Brahms, Beethoven, Prokofiev, and Rachmaninoff, as well as complete cycles of Beethoven and Brahms chamber music. Born in Montenegro and raised in Belgrade, Serbia, Subotić won the former Yugoslavia’s national piano competition at 19 before continuing her studies in the U.S. She holds five performance degrees, including a Doctor of Music and Artist Diploma from Indiana University, where she studied with Menahem Pressler. Dedicated to contemporary music and community engagement, Subotić often commissions new works and explores interactive concert formats. She has recorded for Sony and Centaur labels. Subotić serves as Artistic Director of the Intermezzo Concert Series and directs the Utah Liszt Festival and Competition.
