Overview
Shostakovich Cello Sonata Op. 40 •
This piece was written after Shostakovich briefly separated from his wife due to an affair he had with a student. The highs and lows of this experience are highlighted throughout the four movements of this piece.

Although originally written for solo Harpsicord, this piece has been arranged for many different instruments; ranging from violin and piano to harp and cello.
Schuman Fantasiestucke Op.73 (fantasies) •
Schumans Fantasies bring the listener through a varying range of emotions. From a tender and mysterious melody into a playful back and forth with the piano, concluding triumphantly at the end of the journey
Rachmaninoff Vocalise Op.34 •
Rachmaninoff originally wrote this piece for a tenor vocalist, a range that can be mimicked by the cello very well.
