Movement for Musicians with Mara Plotkin

This workshop will consist of a 15 minute talk about my background as a professional clarinetist and an introduction to what pilates is. The remainder of the hour will consist of a guided workshop through pilates inspired movement and stretches that can be used as a long term strategy to promote a healthy lifestyle and prevent injuries. Since this will be interactive and involve everyone's participation, it is highly recommended that those who attend wear comfortable clothes.

About Mara 

Clarinetist Mara Plotkin, enjoys an active career as an orchestral musician, chamber musician, and recording musician. Mara has performed in such prestigious venues as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Four Seasons Centre, Massey Hall, Glenn Gould Studio, and cultural institutes throughout North America. She performs regularly with San Francisco Bay Area's Freeway Philharmonic orchestras in addition to chamber ensembles such as Chamber Music Society of Sacramento and Solo Vento as part of San Franisco Symphony's educational outreach program. Mara has performed in live broadcasts by CBC Radio's The Signal and has performed a variety of solo recitals in New York City, San Francisco, and Toronto.
