John Calloway (Ed.D) is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and arranger who has performed with renowned jazz artists Cachao Lopez, Max Roach, and Omar Sosa. John has built a solid foundation as a performer and arranger in the San Francisco Bay area, collaborating with John Santos, Pete Escovedo, Marcus Shelby and the SFJAZZ High School All Stars. John teaches jazz harmony and composition, Music of Latin America, music education courses, and founded the university's Afro-Cuban Ensemble in 1999, which performs on campus and throughout the Bay Area for community and social events.
